Michael van der Mark begins another season in the Superbike World Championship with BMW. So far, his career has been heavily marked by injuries, something that repeated itself last year, but that doesn’t stop him from pursuing the team’s high ambitions.
Quoted on the official championship website, the Dutchman highlighted that he is fully committed to the common goal of winning, expressing confidence in the possibilities of achieving it:
– I think we all have a goal at BMW, and that is to win. So, I am making a huge effort, and BMW is making a huge effort. I have a lot of confidence in the project. Hiring Toprak [Razgatlioglu], making many changes… I have a lot of confidence that we will get there.
Despite BMW investing more and there being greater exposure for the team, van der Mark assured that he doesn’t feel any extra pressure: ‘I don’t feel pressure. I love to see them making such a big effort, more and more. It gives me more confidence. The confidence of seeing them making such an effort, I believe it will also make me faster‘.
