It was the perfect end of the season for Arón Canet in the Moto2 World Championship. The rider won the Solidarity GP of Barcelona, securing his fourth victory of the year to become the rider with the most wins in the category in 2024.
The Spanish rider from Fantic did not hide his satisfaction, stating during an interview on the official championship website that it had been a season of progress and change:
– I’m super happy about my evolution during the year. I did a big step. Until Silverstone, I trained at home to be the best; from Silverstone to here, I trained at home to make the difference. It’s a big change, it’s a big step forward, because in the end you need to train to make the difference – not to win races. Everybody wants to win, but you need to make the difference.
Canet then said: ‘I’m thankful to my team, to everybody, for what they did during the season. I’m the rider with more victories this year. In the previous years I didn’t win here in Moto2, and this is perfect for me’.
Finally, the rider addressed the people of Valencia: ‘Thank you to all the Spaniards who are here. This is for Valencia; a Valencia rider took pole, the grand slam, we won the race. This is for all the people of Valencia’.
