Franco Morbidelli returned to the podium in MotoGP for the first time in over three years, securing third place in Argentina. A performance that saw him beat Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) and caught the attention of the team manager of Pertamina Enduro VR46, Pablo Nieto.

In an interview with the official MotoGP website, the Spaniard praised the performance of #21 in a race where the risk of using a soft rear tyre, in contrast to many of the other riders, was taken:

– It was a very, very hard race. We took the risk on the grid by chosing the soft tyre. We knew that all the Ducatis were using the medium tyre. But, anyway, it was a fantastic race. He works very, very well. He was also very fast in the first race [in Thailand], and finally we could make a podium.

Since 2021, Morbidelli has faced difficult moments, whether due to a less competitive bike or injury. And this third place made Nieto particularly happy for the rider: ‘I’m very happy for him, because I know that he has been through a hard time, and now he’s on a good line, working very well. I’m so happy for him’.
