Jorge Martín climbed onto the podium of the Catalunya MotoGP Grand Prix as the third-place finisher. However, the Pramac rider struggled with a less competitive Ducati than expected in the race, having no arguments to face the two Aprilias that finished ahead of him.
In an interview with DAZN, the Spanish rider admitted that the Desmosedici GP23 did not perform as usual: ‘In other years we were stronger, but not this year. It was the first time in years that Ducati didn’t turn, we started having problems, or the others improved a lot. But running five seconds off our pole position times I think is excessive‘.
Despite the surprisingly below expected performance, Martín emphasized that nothing will change for the next round: ‘The track is not in a condition to take any drastic measures, so we will continue with the same plan and surely everything will return to normal in Misano‘.
