Another race and another brilliant performance by Marc Márquez, who has just won another flawless round and a new victory. Franco Morbidelli and Maverick Viñales still dreamed but the Ducati rider once again didn’t give them a chance!

The most anticipated race of the entire weekend was about to begin, with Marc Márquez as the big favorite. After winning yesterday’s Sprint, the Ducati Spaniard is looking for another hattrick weekend, after taking pole position. In the first row, the #93 was flanked by Álex Márquez and Fabio Quartararo, while in the second row of the grid were Franco Morbidelli, Fabio Di Giannantonio and Maverick Viñales.

Morbidelli had a phenomenal start and moved into the lead of the race very early on, also benefiting from a collision between the Márquez brothers, when he went to the front:

The last time Morbidelli led a MotoGP race was almost five years ago, specifically in Valencia in 2020.

And with two laps completed, #21 had 0.7s over Marc, Álex was third, Di Giannantonio fourth and Viñales fifth. Struggling Quartararo was ninth, Pecco Bagnaia was sixth ahead of Johann Zarco, the best Honda in seventh.

On that same lap Viñales reached third but would end up relegated to fourth after Bagnaia overtook him. Álex was seventh behind… his teammate Fermín Aldeguer, after being involved in a collision with DiGia. Zarco was fifth ahead of the rookie. Ai Ogura in tenth was the best Aprilia rider.

The moment was, of course, being analyzed by the Race Direction.

With 19 laps to go, Álex Márquez was found guilty of the incident with DiGia and was penalised with a long lap, whilst Bagnaia overtook Marc and took second place.

Álex Márquez served his penalty and resumed the race in 12th:

Three laps later Marc passed the maneuver back to Bagnaia and returned to second place in the race.

Viñales entered the fight and complicated the life of #63 by overtaking him and then immediately began to apply pressure on Marc Márquez. A very positive surprise from Top Gun.

At the front, Morbidelli remained 0.608s ahead of Márquez, with the Italian from Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team unable to significantly escape the competition, and seeing the gap decrease lap after lap.

In effect, with the race halfway through, Viñales reached second place, with the top ten being ordered as follows:

Without wasting any time, Viñales, one lap later, was well ahead of the race! Unbelievable race the Spaniard was doing.

Morbidelli however gave up more positions and was fourth, but saw his life get worse when he was also overtaken by Zarco. Marc Márquez was in second but an attack on Viñales was expected in the meantime, with first and second separated by just 0.135s.

The KTM Tech3 Spaniard held on to the lead and was now 0.320s ahead of his closest rival, Marc Márquez, with Bagnaia third at 1.117s.

And the news that no one wanted to hear… Jorge Martín had fallen and was out of the running.

With seven laps to go, Viñales gave in, made mistakes and was overtaken by Marc Márquez who was back in the lead in the race, after beating his opponent at turn six.

In cruise control mode Márquez was escaping and how was Viñales, with the #93, four laps from the end at 0.971s. The Spaniard had just set the fastest lap so far in the race at 1:52.662s.

Unsurprisingly, Marc Márquez would end up confirming another victory this year and increasing the gap in the classification, with Viñales unable to do more, in second, and Bagnaia finishing on the podium!
