The final contenders for pole position in the MotoGPValencia Grand Prix have been determined. Francesco Bagnaia and Álex Márquez secured their spots in Q2 at the Circuito Ricardo Tormo.
After the initial flying laps, Bagnaia (Ducati) led the pack, followed by Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) with Augusto Fernández (GasGas Tech3/KTM) in third. Márquez later took the lead, pushing Bagnaia to second.
Five minutes before the end, the Italian reclaimed the top spot with the fastest-ever lap at the Circuito Ricardo Tormo: 1m29.054s. No one managed to outpace Bagnaia or Márquez, with both securing their places in Q2. Fernández finished third, just 37 milliseconds shy of qualification, followed by Enea Bastianini (Ducati) in fourth, and Fabio Quartararo as the best Monster Energy Yamaha rider in fifth.
