Fabio Quartararo suffered a crash during Practice for the MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix that kept him from doing even better, but he still finished in an encouraging third place – just behind the Ducati bikes of brothers Álex and Marc Márquez.

The Frenchman from Monster Energy Yamaha denied feeling frustrated, having achieved his main goal for the day: ‘I think it was not frustrating, because in the end frustrating would be if we didn’t go through Q2. But, to be honest, my main goal at the moment is to be in the top 10 on Friday. If we are higher, it’s better, but my main goal is to be in the top 10 – which is difficult, also because at this track everything is super tight. I’m quite happy, the pace was good. Unfortunately I had the crash, but it was a positive day’.

Although he is feeling confident, Quartararo explained that there is still a balance to be found: ‘I have confidence, especially in the front. We need to find the balance between the front and the rear, because we brake too hard and we use too much the rear tyre on acceleration. I’m really happy, the front feeling of our bike is incredible, but when you push too much you find the limit’.

When asked if this is the best feeling he has had so far in 2025, «El Diablo» replied: ‘Especially on the pace, but I think that the tyre is really consistent here, and this is why I can keep a lap time by pushing at my 100% in every lap. But if I push 100% every lap in Qatar, after three laps the tyre is gone. So, this is also why the gap in pace is much higher where the tyre drop is bigger’.
