After his prologue victory, Daniel Sanders claimed another win in the first stage of Dakar 2025, held this Saturday. Once again, the route started and ended in Bisha.
Riders faced 413km of timed sections. The Australian from Red Bull KTM set the pace for much of the stage, ultimately beating Ricky Brabec (Monster Energy Honda) by 2m04s.
World Rally-Raid champion Ross Branch (Hero MotoSports) took third, finishing 2m26s behind Sanders. The top five was rounded out by Tosha Schareina (Monster Energy Honda) and Luciano Benavides (Red Bull KTM). It was a tough day for one of the top contenders, Kevin Benavides (Red Bull KTM), who only managed 17th, 34m23s off Sanders’ time.
In the overall standings, Sanders retains the lead, now with a 2m22s margin over Brabec, while Branch sits third at 2m38s. Schareina and Luciano Benavides follow, mirroring today’s stage standings.
