Jorge “Sprinter” Martín: what a great victory for the Spaniard in the MotoGP Sprint race at Misano. The Spaniard took full advantage of starting from pole position and left no chances for anyone, once again winning a race on a Saturday.
At the start, Jorge Martín didn’t let anyone steal his position and remained in first place, with Pecco Bagnaia wasting no time and moving early into second place after overtaking Marco Bezzecchi. Dani Pedrosa was fourth and Maverick Viñales fifth.
Brad Binder, widely recognized as a particularly strong racer, was also doing well and was sixth after a double overtake:
Bezzecchi had already “returned” the maneuver to Bagnaia and was once again in second place.
With three full laps Martín led by 0.598s over Bezz, Bagnaia remained in third place with 0.825s over the wildcard Pedrosa, in a phase of the race where another battle between Viñales and Binder was anticipated: only 0.098s separated the Spanish rider from the South African.
Binder now joined the group of riders who had already received a warning for exceeding track limits, before Pedrosa – widely considered one of the best riders of all time – attempted to overtake the championship leader, who defended himself well. The race was quickly approaching the end and with two laps to go, Martín was unlikely to let the victory slip away with the advantage he had over Bezzecchi: 1.019s.
Shortly after, the race in Misano would end, with Martín securing the victory. Joining the Spanish rider on the podium were Bezzcchi and Bagnaia.
