This morning, Aprilia Racing unveiled its new MotoGP lineup to the fans, officially presenting its new duo alongside the final colors of the bike that will compete in the championship.
One of the highlights is Jorge Martín’s decision to use the number 1, with the rider stating that he did not hesitate in choosing #1, as he worked hard to earn it. Meanwhile, Marco Bezzecchi expressed his joy at finally being part of a factory team, especially one from his home country.
Both riders are familiar with winning in MotoGP, with Martín holding the edge over Bezzecchi in this duel, having secured eight wins in long races compared to Bezzecchi’s three. The gap widens in Sprint races, where Martín has 16 victories, while Bezzecchi has just one.
Statistically, Martín also leads in podium finishes, one of his specialties, with 32 podiums compared to Bezzecchi’s nine.
Now, it remains to be seen how both riders will perform, having come from the Ducati sphere—Martín rode the Desmosedici GP24 and Bezzecchi the GP23—putting them on equal footing in terms of bike knowledge as they transition to the Noale manufacturer.
