Reproductions of rally bikes have become a recent success as more and more manufacturers release production models inspired by competition rally machines.
The latest news comes from France in the form of a customized Honda CRF450RX. The CRF450RX is by no means a bike for beginner riders and represents the top of Honda’s off-road bike range. The customized CRF450RX, inspired by rallies and named CRF450RX Rally, comes from Euroboost France, a dealer and importer of Honda bikes in the European country. Interestingly, this bike was not manufactured by Honda, but by the Italian workshop and Honda dealer RS Moto. The company has been equipping CRF450RX bikes for the past two years and shows no signs of slowing down in 2024.
That being said, it’s worth mentioning that the Honda CRF450RX Rally 2024 is based on the current CRF450RX 2023 and brings many, and I mean many, updates to this model. So, what will your €25,990 get you?To start, the CRF450RX Rally 2024 receives two 9.5-liter fuel tanks mounted at the front, as well as a rear fuel tank with a capacity of 10 liters. The resulting total capacity of 29 liters should be more than enough to cover long distances off-road. Naturally, to take this fact into account, the bike has two fuel pumps to transport fuel from the various tanks to the engine. At the front, the CRF450RX Rally has a complete instrumentation tower with an F2R Road-Book and a control command on the handlebar.
In terms of ergonomics, the bike has been reinforced for rallies and has foam grips to alleviate some of the hand vibrations for the rider. There are also reinforced and oversized footrests, a steering damper to keep the front end stable, and renewed suspension settings to handle the rigors of a longer rally trip. For added protection, the bike has a lower structure in carbon fiber, as well as improved brakes with a larger 300mm rotor at the front. The STM fork crowns also ensure maximum front stiffness, while the dual LED lights illuminate the night.
To complete, RS Moto equipped the CRF450RX with a large engine oil radiator, an additional oil tank, a larger cooling fan, and STM clutch covers to reduce weight. The wheels are from Haan Wheels and designed for high-level off-road riding, offering maximum rigidity and low weight. Last but not least, the bike has a special Arrow exhaust system, designed specifically for rally racing. In total, the bike weighs 139 kg without fuel. Assuming a fuel capacity of 29 liters, we are looking at a weight of about 168 kg, ready to ride.
