The new Bimota KB998 Rimini is about to go on sale, following its official unveiling at EICMA in November 2024.

This model also marks the brand’s return to the Superbike World Championship, serving as the base for the bikes used by Alex Lowes and Axel Bassani in the competition. It will be available for purchase starting April 9.

The engine is the same as the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, but the chassis has been designed and developed by Bimota in Italy. It features a four-cylinder engine with a 998cc displacement, delivering 200 hp and 111 Nm of torque.

The frame is an aluminum trellis type, with Showa inverted front forks, while the rear features an aluminum swingarm and shock absorber. In terms of braking, there are two front discs and a single rear disc.

Each unit of the Bimota KB998 Rimini has been hand-built at the factory in Rimini by the same experts who designed the competition bikes. While it will launch in the European market in April, it has not yet been homologated for road use. A total of 500 units will be produced by 2026.

Pierluigi Marconi, Bimota’s Chief Operating Officer, stated: ‘We concentrated on producing KB998 Rimini customer machines following the creation of the race versions for BbKRT to campaign in WorldSBK. The same people who crafted the race bikes are also responsible for the manufacture of customer machines. Each example of the KB998 available at a bimota dealership has been hand made in our Rimini workshop, and each is the product of just one technician from the start to the end of the build process. We remain true to the bimota philosophy of innovation and hand-crafted quality which our customers expect from such exquisite machines and look forward to the reactions of the initial clients in April’.
