Monday’s test in Jerez gave Pedro Acosta another day at the helm of KTM’s MotoGP bike, also being able to work with some new solutions. The Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider was 11th on the time sheet.
The rookie told the press: ‘We tried a fairing and some different settings on our standard bike. Overall it was a good day. Ultimately, as I always say, having the best testing team in the paddock makes it very easy, because everything that comes is very positive. It’s true that our bike is tricky in some areas, on fast tracks, and we are improving. It’s true that we have several question marks that may become very clear in Mugello‘.
Despite testing the rear fairing throughout the day, Acosta was limited in this aspect, unable to make direct comparisons with the current one:
– No, because in the morning we only had two of these new fairings and in the morning I started testing it and we had a problem with the piece and couldn’t use it anymore. So, Brad [Binder] was using his and then I took it for the last two sets of laps of the day. So we didn’t have time to make comparisons, because it takes time to switch from one fairing to another. Anyway, there are several positive things about the fairing.
