Haiden Deegan, one of the standout riders in the AMA Supercross 250 SX West, was arrested last Friday in Florida. He was released after posting a $1,000 bail.
According to the website RacerXOnline, everything happened in Birmingham, on the sidelines of the AMA Supercross round held this past weekend. The rider was caught driving recklessly in a high-performance sports car.
Apparently, the police encountered Deegan doing donuts on a public road. The arrest report, cited by Vurbmoto.com, mentions a gray Audi R8 with illuminated brake lights illuminated, releasing ‘its brakes and accelerating west before executing a full rotation in the lane leading to the pickleball courts’.
Even after the patrol car activated its emergency lights and siren, Deegan allegedly continued his behavior, performing another donut before coming to a stop.
At this point, after six rounds, Deegan (Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha) leads the AMA Supercross 250 SX West with 129 points, 12 more than Julien Beaumer (Red Bull KTM).
