More than three years later, Alessandro Zaccone secured his second MotoE victory. The rider clearly dominated the second race of the Dutch GP at Assen held this Saturday.
At the start of the race, Kevin Zannoni (Openbank Aspar) was stronger than Zaccone (Tech3 E-Racing), overtaking the pole sitter on the way to the first corner. Once again, Héctor Garzó (Dynavolt Intact GP) positioned himself in third place.
Still in the first lap, Zaccone reclaimed the lead, while Nicholas Spinelli (Tech3 E-Racing) crashed out in turn 7, retiring from the race. At the front, Zaccone managed to build a gap, while Zannoni tried to hold off Garzó and Jordi Torres (Openbank Aspar), eventually dropping to third by the end of the second lap.
With four laps to go, Zaccone already had a lead of over two seconds, seemingly having the race under control while the battle for second place continued intensively with a large group of riders. Positions changed rapidly, and three laps from the end, Garzó was second ahead of Torres and Manfredi.

However, shortly after, Torres managed to move up to second, while Óscar Gutiérrez (Axxis-MSi) overtook Garzó to take third place. Manfredi dropped to sixth. Nonetheless, everything was still open, and on the sixth lap, Gutiérrez passed Torres… as did Garzó and subsequently Lukas Tulovic (Dynavolt Intact GP).
With an overtake under yellow flags, Garzó had to concede a position on the penultimate lap, leaving Tulovic on the podium. However, the Spaniard managed to recover on the final lap.
Until the end, there were no further changes in the podium positions. Zaccone took the win, beating Gutiérrez by a clear 1.909 seconds. Garzó finished third ahead of Tulovic, while Torres closed out the top five. Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team) only managed eighth but continues to lead the championship after the Dutch GP.
