The list of Kawasaki’s renewed models for the year 2024 includes their famous adventure and dual-sport motorcycles, such as the Versys range, as well as the robust and reliable KLR 650 range. For 2024, Team Green has kept the performance characteristics and foundations of the bikes, but updated them slightly in terms of style and design.
Starting with the Versys-X 300, this model is the smallest of Kawasaki’s adventure bikes in the North American market and features the same 296cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected twin-cylinder engine as the now discontinued Ninja 300. The Versys-X 300 maintains simplicity and functionality, with a low seat height that ensures accessibility to a wide range of riders, a high windshield for wind protection on the road, and a convenient luggage compartment at the rear. However, for those seeking road-focused adventures, the Versys 650 LT is back in 2024 and retains all the tried and tested features we know from its predecessors. It has a 649cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected twin-cylinder engine, derived from the Ninja, and the unmistakable Versys instrument panel, resembling a Ninja.
As before, it has 17-inch wheels with road tires and a vertical seating position with a tall windshield. The Versys 650 LT comes from the factory with Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), a color screen with smartphone connectivity, and full LED lighting.
Next, for those who like to explore beyond the limits of asphalt, the KLR range is ideal for you. The KLR650 returned in 2022 after a long hiatus. As it turns out, there is a place in the market for a rugged and simple adventurer, and it seems it will continue to be so in the year 2024. Like before, the bike has a 652cc single-cylinder engine housed in a high-strength steel frame. The base version has no electronics, except for optional ABS.
For shorter riders or for people who just want to have a lower seat height, the KLR 650 S offers just that. Kawasaki lowered the bike’s suspension to provide a lower seat height, although sacrificing some ground clearance.
Last but not least, the KLR 650 Adventure is equipped with a variety of accessories that will surely please the most demanding adventurers. It gets increased cargo capacity with pre-installed side cases, enhanced visibility with LED auxiliary lights, additional protection in the form of engine guards, and convenient amenities like a DC power outlet and a USB socket. It also comes standard with ABS for added safety on the road.
Regarding the European and national market, there is still no official information on whether these Japanese models will arrive. We will keep you updated on all the news from Kawasaki.
