The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team will have very important updates on their bike ‘in the not too distant future’ that could be crucial to help the team get out of the current situation, believes Massimo Meregalli, as the test team continues to work.
In a team statement, while previewing the upcoming GP in Jerez, the Team Director once again stated that the manufacturer is working hard to return to a competitive phase, and that the team is now entering a very important moment of the season: ‘Although we have been working hard, we are now entering one of the busiest periods of this season for Yamaha and our team. The Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Test Team was in Barcelona for a Private Test with Cal [Crutchlow] last week. This week, we have the Spanish GP, immediately followed by the one-day Jerez IRTA Official Test’.
This work, the Italian believes, is important and there are many things that can be used in the future, hopefully in due time: ‘All of this is very important for our team, as our focus is on bike development. We have updates to make in the not too distant future and the data we are collecting over these weeks will be very valuable’.
