Miguel Oliveira’s future in MotoGP remains uncertain as he completes the final year of his contract with Trackhouse Racing, and nothing has been announced for 2025. However, it seems his continuation in the lineup is not at risk, according to Manuel Pecino.
In addition to Aprilia, whose satellite team he is currently part of, there appears to be strong interest from other manufacturers – most notably Yamaha. The Spanish journalist revealed on his PecinoGP channel:
– Yamaha told me that if they have a satellite team, Miguel will be with them. William Favero [Marketing & Communications Manager at Yamaha Motor Racing] told me this. He is on a pedestal, and there are three bidders. Yamaha said, ‘I bid for Miguel,’ as acknowledged. Aprilia has to bid out of necessity.
According to Pecino, it is less likely that Oliveira will choose Honda if he has other opportunities, as it seems: ‘Then there’s the Honda issue. I think Miguel – having two bikes that can allow him to achieve results – unless there is a very good economic reason, which in this case, with bidding, he will get a good contract, would go to Honda now that he has the opportunity for teams to want him instead of knocking on doors as he has done almost his entire career. And he goes to Honda?’.
