The Barcelona-Catalunya circuit is undergoing extensive remodelling work. The regional government has decided to invest 50 million euros to improve the track’s infrastructure.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the total amount has increased by 20 million compared to the amount announced for the 2022-2024 period.
The most visible changes will be made to the facilities that include the pits, the roofs of the stands, the control tower, the pit area, the press room, the stewards’ room and the meeting rooms. A VIP area will also be built, which should be inaugurated during the Formula 1 Catalunya Grand Prix, which will take place over the weekend of 21-23 June.
A month earlier, on 24, 25 and 26 May, the mythical Spanish track will host the Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP.
