Pedro Acosta made his debut in the World Championship in 2021, sporting the #37 on his bike, a number he has carried throughout his career. However, there have been two instances where he had to give it up.
In 2022, when he moved up to Moto2, #37 was already taken by Augusto Fernández, leading Acosta to opt for #51. This year, upon entering MotoGP, the same scenario occurred with Fernández, and Acosta chose #31 instead.
Next season, Fernández will not be in the lineup, which means #37 should become available. Therefore, Acosta could potentially return to his preferred number if he wishes.
However, after securing his first podiums in the premier class with #31, will the Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rookie switch back to #37? For now, Acosta is keeping the mistery: ‘You will see in Valencia. We will make like the last year’.
