Andrea Iannone stepped in for the injured Fabio Di Giannantonio at the MotoGP Malaysian GP, replacing the Pertamina Enduro VR46 rider who will return next season after undergoing shoulder surgery.
However, Iannone (#29) remains uncertain if he will be called upon for the season’s final GP, as he said: ‘I don’t know. At the moment, no one asked me, and I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t have a lot of energy to think now, and also to talk about Barcelona’.
That said, Iannone hinted that he would be open to riding the Desmosedici GP23 in Barcelona if asked: ‘I’ll wait. If Gigi [Dall’Igna] or someone else wants, I’ll try to decide’.
If he does participate in the final race, «The Maniac» admitted that he would need to focus on his physical condition: ‘In that case, I’ll try to train more over these ten days, but I think Barcelona is easier than Malaysia’.
