Just as in the Sprint race, Enea Bastianini crossed the finish line of the main race of the MotoGP Malaysian GP in third place – far behind the top two, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) and Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati).
The Italian, who won in Sepang last year, stated in the official MotoGP website broadcast that he was pleased with the result, but not entirely:
– Another third, but the feeling was the same as yesterday. I was not competitive at the [corner] entry, and when it is like this, I have to save the race. In the end, that podium came. I can be happy, but not 100%. We have another race in Barcelona in two weeks, and let’s see what we can do.
Bastianini also dedicated this race to the people of the Valencia region, which was hit by storm Dana a few days ago: ‘Hello to all the people in Valencia, and this race is for everyone, because they need support. I know the situation, it also happened in Emilia-Romagna. A kiss to you all’.
