Defying much skepticism, Toprak Razgatlioglu became the World Superbike champion for the second time in 2024 – with ROKiT BMW, a team that, before last year, wasn’t even a regular contender for podiums.
But the Turkish rider not only claimed the title but did so in dominant fashion, setting new records for victories. It was a sensational journey that silenced doubters of his move to the Bavarian manufacturer and demonstrated why Razgatlioglu is one of the best riders in WSBK today.
Joan Mir, who has previously been a rival of #54, was impressed by his performance. In an interview with Crash.net, the Honda MotoGP rider said:
– For sure what Toprak did was fantastic, to get the title with all that extra difficultly. So I really congratulate him. He was the strongest last season. I’m very happy for him. We’ve known each other since the Rookies Cup in 2014 and he’s a nice guy.
