Pedro Acosta’s debut in MotoGP is just a few hours away. The Qatar GP begins this Friday and will be the first for the Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider in the premier class.
When asked in a press conference about what he needs to improve before the start of the season, the rookie said: ‘Well, many. At the end, watching the races from the last year I saw that the lines that Brad [Binder] and Jack [Miller] do are completely… not so different, but we have some different lines. And for sure we need to learn from the guys from KTM, because they are in the top level. We saw last season Brad finishing fourth and he was really competitive at the end of the season, and so he’s the guy to watch’.
Despite the excitement, Acosta emphasized that, for now, he cannot speak about goals given his lack of experience: ‘I’m super excited, at the end it’s a MotoGP race. We cannot talk about targets when I didn’t make a MotoGP race. At the end, it’s going to be exciting. There are a lot of question marks for me before the lights go out. We will try to enjoy and not to think in any result’.
