Aprilia has opted for stability by keeping Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales as riders, while also having a MotoGP satellite team for the second time – Trackhouse Racing. Throughout the Sepang tests, there were innovations seen in the RS-GP, and overall, the riders feel that there has been progress.
Is this the year when fighting for the title is possible? Massimo Rivola, CEO of Aprilia Racing, admitted to the championship’s official website that he does not feel ready at this moment to counter the superiority of Ducati:
– To be realistic, if you see the step Ducati did is really impressive. We see everybody going very fast. The good thing is the show should be super nice to watch on TV and on track. But I don’t think we’ll be ready to fight with Ducati, no.
