Franco Morbidelli has been steadily closing in on the top positions in MotoGP after a challenging start to the season due to injury. The rider now faces the Aragon GP, a track where he has often performed well and even won once in the premier class.
Asked in a press conference about what he likes that much at MotorLand Aragón, the Italian from Prima Pramac replied: ‘I don’t know, I couldn’t tell, but in my history here I have always had great results – even in my first year in Moto2 back in 2014 I was already fighting for the podium in the first year. It was amazing, I have always had a special feeling at this track, and I hope it will be like this this weekend as well’.
Gino Borsoi, the Pramac team manager, believes that Morbidelli’s first podium is in sight. The rider also thinks that it could be already a realistic goal:
– We are grinding to achieve that with the crew, we are doing everything that we missed at the beginning of the year. With the injury we skipped a lot and we didn’t have any experience together and on the bike itself. So now we are at a point where we are almost there and we can aim for a podium right now, but we need to put everything in its place. Let’s see if we manage to do this.
