Pedro Acosta signed a new contract with KTM this morning, which will take him to the factory team in MotoGP in 2025. And, hours after the announcement, he finished third in the Sprint race at the Italian GP in Mugello.
The Spanish rider from Red Bull GasGas Tech3 stated in an interview with the official broadcast: ‘It’s true that we are improving a lot on Saturdays, being more competitive in qualifying. And we also improved massively the start because today I was close to be second’.
MotoGP is not an individual sport contrary to what it may sometimes seem, and Acosta praised KTM’s efforts to have a bike capable of fighting at the front:
– I’m super happy for the team, because they are working day and night to bring this bike to the top. We are coming closer, we are even closer than what we expected. All the factory in Mattighofen, also all the engineers here, are working super hard to have a super competitive bike. So, we are on our way.
