Jorge Martín is starting a new chapter in his MotoGP career this year with Aprilia, after four seasons with Pramac that culminated in the 2024 championship title.
Fonsi Nieto, a member of the team who worked closely with Martín, spoke about witnessing the Spaniard’s growth since his debut in the premier class in 2021:
– The icing on the cake is the World Championship, but the evolution he had over these four years, watching him improve day by day and seeing how he grew, was very beautiful. It was often said that in 2024 he improved a lot mentally, and yes, he did, but he also improved in being faster on the bike, and this helps you make fewer mistakes.
The former rider, who remains with Pramac, believes that this improvement in speed was crucial for Martín: ‘He improved his speed, and that allows you to stay calmer. At the end of the day, having the pace and speed is the most important thing’.
