In the last week of the MotoGP break before the Americas GP, some riders from the paddock joined Valentino Rossi for a training session – this time at Mugello, which will host the Italian GP in June.
The reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac/Ducati), Luca Marini (Repsol Honda), and Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati) were with Il Dottore, as well as other riders from the VR46 Riders Academy – including Celestino Vietti (Red Bull KTM Ajo, Moto2).
In this track day, Rossi didn’t miss the opportunity to ride his R1 GYTR VR46 Tribute, a highly customized bike with many racing characteristics – such as Brembo brake calipers identical to those used in the World Superbike Championship last year or the 22-liter aluminum fuel tank also used in WSBK.
The legendary Italian, who currently competes in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in car racing, shared a video on social media documenting these training sessions at Mugello. You can watch it below.
