The fight for the MotoGP title is already heating up. It’s a battle where every second and detail matters. And that’s evident for the two contenders in the premier class.
This Friday, during the practice session as they exited the pits, there was an initial encounter on the track between Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martín. The Spaniard showed his claws and stuck close to the Italian, in a sort of tight marking – a «cat-and-mouse game» that ultimately paid off for the Pramac rider.
Martín received a slight unintentional assist from Pol Espargaró (GasGas Tech3/KTM), who crashed, thereby preventing Bagnaia from improving his time on the last lap when his pace wasn’t within the top ten.
For now, it’s a minor initial victory for the Martinator, which counts for little or nothing. #89 trails Bagnaia by 21 points, in a weekend where 37 points are up for grabs.
