The MotoGP caravan is on its way to the GP of the Americas and last year this stage represented an exception to what proved to be the rest of the championship.
Maverick Viñales dominated at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin and was the only non-Ducati to take victories throughout the year, but there was much more to the action than what happened to the then Aprilia Racing rider.
In the classification the front row was dominated by Spaniards, with Viñales in pole position, ahead of Pedro Acosta and Marc Márquez, while in the Sprint Viñales won, with Marc Márquez in second and Jorge Martín in third.
In the most anticipated race of the weekend, Viñales confirmed the “triple”, with Acosta in second place and Enea Bastianini – curiously today’s teammate in #12, at Tech3, in third.
