The 2025 Dakar, marking the start of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), is underway. On Friday, a short prologue took place, starting and finishing in Bisha.
In the bikes category, Daniel Sanders (Red Bull KTM) was the fastest, completing the timed section in 16m51s. The Australian edged out Ross Branch (Hero MotoSports) and Edgar Canet (Red Bull KTM) by just 12 seconds.
Given the short distance, the times were tight, with the top ten riders separated by less than a minute, making for a less competitive day compared to what the 12 stages will bring.
