Trevor Motorcycles, the Belgian electric motorcycle specialist, is eyeing a major expansion in 2024. Having previously been successful due to its impressive DTRe Stella model, the company has a number of launches planned for 2024, which include a more affordable model called the Vince, as well as a high-performance electric motocross model.
When it comes to the company’s market entry approach, Trevor Motorcycles isn’t exactly following the norm. While other start-ups focus their attention on a strong online presence and e-commerce platforms, Trevor Motorcycles insists on doing everything the old-fashioned way. This means that it is looking for traditional dealers all over the world. Of course, this doesn’t mean that Trevor is abandoning the online space altogether, as the company does have an intuitive and interactive website.
Trevor’s goal is quite significant: to create 280 points of sale, with 140 spread across Europe and the UK, and another 140 in the USA and Canada. To achieve its goal of expansion, particularly in the European market, Trevor Motorcycles has teamed up with the company The Pack. The Pack, run by Guy Salens, has experience in the field of electric mobility, backed by a strong community of passionate electric motorcycle enthusiasts.
As we’ve mentioned in the past, Trevor Motorcycles wants to innovate city transportation with its electric two-wheelers. In the case of its distribution through dealers around the world, the company is eyeing partnerships with motorsport and motorcycle dealers specializing in extreme and outdoor sports such as apartment track, enduro, motocross and off-road.
Although the DTRe Stella is indeed a premium offering, the brand is expected to launch the more affordable DTRe Vince in 2024. Trevor co-founder Jeroen-Vincent explains it this way: “The Vince takes all the beloved features of our Stella and refines them to create a more affordable option. On the US market, the price will be 8,260 dollars (before tax), while in Europe it will cost 9,950 euros (including VAT). Pre-orders are now open for 195.00 EUR, with delivery scheduled for the fall of 2024.”
Although still quite pricey, the Vince undoubtedly makes Trevor’s impressive portfolio more accessible to a wide audience. For reference, it is equipped with a mid-drive engine with a maximum power of 11 kilowatts (about 15 horsepower), which puts it on par with 125 cc gasoline two-wheelers in terms of performance.
Even more impressively, Trevor Motorcycles has announced that it is currently working on a high-performance electric platform. This new platform is expected to give rise to an all-new electric motocross prototype that the company will soon present to the public. Set to compete with the Stark Varg and other powerful off-road bikes, Trevor’s new electric motocross bike is expected to be homologated for motocross racing in the near future.
