Tosha Schareina kicked off his 2025 Dakar campaign with a top-five result in Friday’s prologue, setting the fifth-fastest time.
The course was short, so the gaps between riders were minimal. The Spanish Monster Energy Honda rider finished 25 seconds behind the winner, Daniel Sanders (Red Bull KTM).
The key objective was to be among the top ten fastest riders to secure the option to choose the starting position for tomorrow’s first stage. Reflecting positively on his prologue performance, Schareina said:
– It was a good, super fast 29km prologue and I did catch some cars which got in my way, so I just tried to ride smooth and get to the finish line so I can be ready to start tomorrow and go for it for 400km.
