After his heavy crash during the second free practice at Magny-Cours, Toprak Razgatlioglu missed the World Superbike races in France. The championship resumes in less than two weeks in Cremona, and the ROKiT BMW team is hopeful that their lead rider will be available.
The Turkish rider suffered a mild traumatic pneumothorax. In a statement quoted by the official championship website, the Bavarian manufacturer provided an update on Razgatlioglu’s condition:
– Further examinations at the medical centre at Magny-Cours have now confirmed that the pneumothorax is healing positively. The attending doctors have already cleared Razgatlioglu to travel to Italy, where his treatment will continue with another professional medical team.
As for the #54 participation in the next round in Italy, BMW noted that it is still uncertain and will depend on his recovery and the evaluation by the circuit and championship doctors.
