Maverick Viñales secured a spot on the front row of the starting grid for the French MotoGP Grand Prix this Saturday. The Aprilia rider placed third in qualifying at Le Mans.
Despite only having one lap in Q2, the Spanish rider managed to achieve his goal of being in the top three, trailing only behind Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) and Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati).
A result that pleased him, as he stated to the official broadcast: ‘It’s very good, I’m very happy about the result. Obviously the front row was the objective, and be able to be on the front row with only one lap is amazing, so I’m very happy and very pleased about the feeling of the bike’.
Now, the races are ahead, for which Viñales believes he is prepared: ‘I feel ready for the race, so we are going to try to be at the maximum obviously, fighting, and we are going to try to be there since the first lap. So I’m very happy, it’s amazing, the French crowd, and we are going to try to do an amazing race again’.
