Luca Marini has made strong statements regarding Honda’s situation in MotoGP. The rider, who joined the team this season, has no doubts that the bike has regressed compared to last year.
Speaking to Sky Sport during the Giffoni Film Festival, the Italian was blunt about the RC213V but also expressed confidence that the right path has been resumed:
– At the beginning of the year, we thought we were starting from a higher level, but in reality, this season’s bike was a step back compared to the 2023 bike and the one I tested with Honda in Valencia. However, we are now back on the right track. We are heading in the right direction, although it will take some time.
Now, Marini hopes to be more competitive at the British GP, which marks the restart after the summer break: ‘We hope to restart in good condition from Silverstone, also because the race at Sachsenring was the best we’ve had this year, and it would be good to build on that’.
