The 2024 MotoGP season was overwhelmingly dominated by Ducati, with riders from Borgo Panigale winning all but one of the 20 main races.
The exception came at the Americas GP, where Maverick Viñales outperformed everyone else aboard his Aprilia RS-GP. Apart from that, every victory went to a Ducati rider: Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac), Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), Enea Bastianini (Ducati), or Marc Márquez (Gresini).
Claudio Domenicali, Ducati’s CEO, admitted to MotoSprint that the ambitious goal of winning every race fell just short, missing what could have been an almost perfect season:
– I told Gigi [Dall’Igna, Ducati Corse’s General Manager] to win every race. That was the goal for 2024, but we didn’t achieve it. Today, we are celebrating this ‘failure’ of winning 19 out of 20 races.
