Thibault Benistant emerged victorious in the qualifying race for the MXGP of Europe, part of the MX2 Motocross World Championship. The race took place this Saturday in Saint Jean d’Angely, France.
On a rainy Saturday, Sacha Coenen (Red Bull KTM) led for most of the race but suffered a heavy crash just over two minutes from the end. Although the Belgian got back up without major injuries, he lost positions and finished sixth.
At that moment, Benistant (Monster Energy Yamaha) had just moved into second place and seized the opportunity to take the lead. He then pulled away from Simon Längenfelder (Red Bull KTM) to win by 7.927s.
Liam Everts (Nestaan Husqvarna) secured third place, followed by Camden Mc Lellan (Monster Energy Triumph) in fourth and Andrea Adamo (Red Bull KTM) in fifth, ahead of Coenen.
