Rumors surrounding Marc Márquez’s future in MotoGP persist and will continue in the coming days, as no announcement is scheduled during the Japanese GP. The Repsol Honda rider has been linked to Gresini.«
The Spaniard said to MotoGP.com that this weekend will not be particularly important: ‘No, because I don’t know in which position I am in the championship – I’m very far, I’ve nothing to lose, nothing to gain. And I’m focused on the race track. Apart of that we are working together with Honda to improve the situation for the future and fight again for the top positions in the future’.
Márquez also emphasized that he will not make an announcement regarding his future at Motegi: ‘There won’t be any announcement during this weekend. We know and you already realised that we are working to find the best for the project for the future, to improve, to don’t repeat a season like this one. And this is the main target’.
Asked whether Honda could say something this weekend that will change his mind, the six-time world champion replied: ‘You suppose that they will change my mind. Maybe my mind has already changed – you never know, you are not inside my mind. This is something we are working together to find the best for the future. And as the last year will come big members from Honda, from HRC, and we will have a meeting like the last year. And it’s true that this year we are looking to change a few things for the future, to try to improve for both sides – because Honda wants to win and I want to win, we have the same target’.
