Miguel Oliveira secured ninth place in the MotoGP Portuguese Grand Prix. He was far from contending for the top positions in this home round of the championship, as he has done in the past, but he did not fail to witness the support of the Portuguese fans.
Speaking to SportTV after the race, the Trackhouse Racing rider talked about the fans, comparing the support he felt in Portimão with that of Valentino Rossi:
– I’ve been in the World Championship for 14 years now, and the only support I’ve seen from the public for a specific rider was only with Valentino Rossi. So, I have no words to describe all the support the public showed. It was simply a dream weekend in that sense. Despite the result, I know the support is unconditional, and I am with a full heart.
