Jorge Martín is in the battle for the MotoGP title with six rounds remaining, leading the championship by 24 points over Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati). As with last year, it’s expected that the fight will go down to the final round.
Naturally, there is some pressure involved, and it needs to be managed effectively to maintain a strong performance on track. The Spaniard from Prima Pramac spoke about how he handles this pressure:
– For me it’s quite simple: I feel that the more pressure I have, or the more difficult things become, the more I try to be focused on riding, on my feelings, and I’m trying to be focused on that.
At this stage, mistakes can be costly, and Martín admitted that without this focus, he risks making errors: ‘If I start thinking too much, then I start making mistakes. I feel that from my side I just do like this, trying to give my 100% in every situation, and that’s it. I try to avoid that pressure’.
