The Yamaha Ténéré Rally Team has unveiled their latest weapon for the challenging Africa Eco Race 2025: the iconic Ténéré 700. Known for its robustness and versatility, this adventure motorcycle has been enhanced to face the harshness of the Sahara dunes and the challenges of one of the world’s most demanding endurance rallies.
A Motor that Dominates the Impossible
At the heart of the Ténéré 700 lies a 689cc twin-cylinder engine, 4-stroke and liquid-cooled, complying with EU5 environmental standards. This unit delivers a maximum power of 73.4 hp at 9,000 rpm and 68 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, ensuring strength and agility on any terrain. The synchronized six-speed transmission has been optimized to balance power and control, allowing the rider to overcome obstacles with confidence and precision.
Prepared for All Terrains
Designed for adventure and competition, the Ténéré 700 features a compact tubular frame, with a double-cradle steel structure that offers resistance and stability, even in the most adverse conditions. The narrow fairings allow for agile and controlled riding, whether standing or seated, while the long-travel suspension — with 210mm at the front and 200mm at the rear — effectively absorbs impacts.
With spoked wheels and off-road tires sized for demanding terrain (90/90-21 front and 150/70-18 rear), the bike is capable of crossing dunes, rocky terrain, and dirt tracks with equal dexterity.
Ergonomics and Durability
The Ténéré 700’s ergonomics were designed to offer comfort during long hours of competition. The seat, at 875mm height, ensures a riding position that balances control and visibility. Additionally, with a 16-liter fuel tank and an average consumption of 4.3 l/100 km, the bike offers sufficient autonomy for extended stages without frequent refueling needs.
Safety and Control
Braking is ensured by high-performance hydraulic discs — two 282mm discs at the front and one 245mm disc at the rear. This system offers an effective response, essential for safety in extreme rally conditions.
Challenging the Limits at Africa Eco Race
The Africa Eco Race 2025 will be the ideal stage to demonstrate the true potential of the Ténéré 700. The combination of power, durability, and cutting-edge technology makes this bike a natural candidate to face the challenges of unpredictable stages and inhospitable terrains.
With the Ténéré 700, Yamaha reaffirms its commitment to excellence in the world of rally and adventure, offering riders a machine that not only conquers horizons but redefines what’s possible in high-endurance competitions.
The challenge is set. Let the dunes and endless tracks come. The Ténéré 700 is ready to write its next chapter in the African desert.
