Johann Zarco will start from third in the races of the Valencia MotoGP Grand Prix. Towards the end, the Pramac Racing rider outpaced Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) with the third fastest time in Saturday’s qualifying at the Circuito Ricardo Tormo.
Asked in the official broadcast if this grid position is an opportunity to bid farewell with a podium and assist Jorge Martín in the title fight, the Frenchman replied:
– Yes, but this we cannot plan and we will see later in the race if I can competitive for the podium. I’m clearly happy to be in the front row – the first of the year, at least one! And I didn’t expect it because on the second tyre… my first lap, when the tyre is at the best condition, I did only 1m29.4s and then I was worried. But I’m pretty happy with this last lap: no yellow flags and I’ve got a good lap. So, I’m pretty happy. It’s an opportunity to try to get the first Sprint podium later.
