In 2023, Johann Zarco matched his best final ranking in MotoGP, securing fifth place in the championship. However, it marked his best season ever in terms of both podium finishes and points scored – including his first-ever win in the premier class.
In an interview with France Bleu Vaucluse, the rider from Prima Pramac mentioned that it was a positive season despite the changes, expressing satisfaction in equaling his best final championship result:
– It was a great season with many changes. Just with the Sprints, there was an initial adaptation. Then, if we look at the numbers, I had the highest number of podiums, this victory, and a good top-five finish in the overall standings that I previously achieved in 2021, but it’s good to repeat it. It shows that I continue to be a rider who is ready for the fight.
