Owner of the eighth place in today’s MotoGP Sprint race at Misano, Aleix Espargaro admitted at the end that he was very happy with his result, especially after the physical difficulties he had experienced after crashing yesterday.
The Aprilia spaniard began by recalling his difficulties: ‘I was very sore, I had a lot of pain in my neck, it wasn’t my best night at all. I was very slow in P3, but then in qualifying I put in a lot of effort and got the bike into sixth position. It was a difficult track for me after yesterday’s big crash’.
A. Espargaro then talked about his pace and how competitive it was:
– In the Sprint eighth place can look like shit but the pace I had and how close I was to the third step of the podium, close to Pecco [Bagnaia] made me very proud on a difficult track. I was close to Maverick [Viñales] the whole race, and after all the problems I’m very happy with what I did.
