The Taiwanese brand SYM is all about scooters. The brand’s models focus on practical and affordable urban mobility, with a wide selection of scooters that fit most budgets. We’ve talked a bit about the company’s scooters in the past, and for 2024, their model range is expanding with the addition of a new adventure-style scooter.
The adventure scooter segment popularized by the Honda X-ADV in 2016 has seen many new entrants, and the SYM ADX 300 is the newest in the group. It is a step up from the ADX 125, launched in October 2023, offering a bit more performance and premium features than its smaller sister, while maintaining the same robust style. Speaking of which, the ADX 300 has a mini beak at the front, a tall windscreen, and angular fairing. It also features full LED lights that enhance its aesthetics and give it a more premium look and feel.
As for the technology of the ADX 300, it has a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 278.3 cc single-cylinder engine, with a maximum power of 25.8 hp and a torque of 26 Nm, putting it in the top tier of maxi-scooters in this displacement range in terms of performance. It has 15-inch front wheels and 14-inch rear wheels, and is equipped with front and rear disc brakes for safe braking.
As for the elements that make this adventure scooter a scooter, well, it has a large storage under the seat, a large seat spacious enough for two riders, long floor for a comfortable seating position, and handles for comfortable two-up riding. The adjustable windshield and integrated handguards also provide additional protection against the elements. In addition to being a scooter, the ADX 300 was designed to go beyond the usual route, so SYM took the frame of the Joyride 300 and reinforced the central part to increase rigidity. The fuel capacity was also increased from 11.5 liters to 16 liters.
