Ducati has two versions of the Desmosedici on the MotoGP grid – the official team and Prima Pramac have the current GP24, while Gresini and Pertamina Enduro VR46 have access to last year’s GP23.
Although these bikes are from different years and their specifications and performances are not exactly the same, it has been seen that both can compete for wins and podiums with varying regularity.
Marc Márquez rides for Gresini and therefore has a GP23. The Spaniard said in a press conference that the differences between the two versions of the bike are not significant:
– I didn’t try the 2024, but I think both bikes are very similar. Maybe it [the GP24] performs better in some race tracks, in other race tracks it will be more equal. But at the moment I feel comfortable with my bike.
