KTM started the 2024 MotoGP season strong, with podium finishes from Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM). However, the team lost momentum as the season progressed, narrowly securing second place in the Constructors’ Championship.
Francesco Guidotti, completing his final year as team manager, reflected on the season in an interview with the championship’s official website. He acknowledged a promising start but admitted that the second half was challenging:
– We started very well, with some podiums with different riders, and the expectations were really high. We aimed for the big target, and I think it was pretty good until the middle of the season. From the middle season on, we struggled a little bit.
The Italian then said: ‘Maybe some direction that wasn’t the best one for us. The main contenders made a small improvement, but that made the gap even bigger. We had a moment mid-season that was a bit strange; I think that’s where we lost the chance to stay close to the top’.
