Luciano Benavides recorded the sixth-fastest time in the first stage of the 2025 Dakar Rally this Saturday. The rider finished 10m02s behind his teammate Daniel Sanders, the stage winner.
The Argentine Red Bull KTM rider stated in a press release that he faced some challenges but felt he approached the stage the right way and was satisfied with the outcome:
– That was a crazy but cool stage to start with! I struggled with the feeling in my hand for a while, so I had to manage that. The navigation was really tricky at some points, but I just tried to stay calm and focused. It worked well, and I’m happy with how today went. The next few days will be testing, but I can’t wait
Ahead of the 48-hour stage, Benavides holds sixth place in the overall standings, 10m42s behind the leader, who remains Sanders.
